IV Sedation

If you are scheduled for I.V. Conscious Sedation in our office, please remember:

  • You must have nothing to eat or drink for six hours prior to the planned procedure, Our doctors will inform you on which, if any, of your medications are to be taken the day of your appointment. If you are instructed to take a medication prior to treatment, it should only be taken with a sip of water.
  • You must be accompanied by a competent adult who can escort you home. This adult must arrive with you, wait in the waiting area during the procedure and leave with you when you are discharged.
  • Any change in your medical status must be reported to the doctor on the day of the planned procedure. These may include cold or flu, positive pregnancy test or suspected pregnancy, newly discovered allergy, newly diagnosed medical condition or the addition of a new medication or cessation of medication previously prescribed.
