Robert G. Saylor, D.D.S. – Diplomate, American Board of Endodontists
Dr. Saylor received his Doctorate in Dental Surgery from the University of Maryland School of Dental Medicine in 1994. He continued his education by attending a one year residency and received his certification in Advanced General Dentistry from the University of Maryland.
After completing six years in private practice as a general dentist, Dr. Saylor was then accepted into a two year Endodontic residency program at Boston University where he completed his advanced graduate studies and now holds a specialty certificate in Endodontics.
In 2004 Dr. Saylor opened his endodontic practice in State College, which is focused on the management and treatment of complex cases within the scope of endodontics. He has a specific interest in anesthesia and its use in patients referred to today’s endodontic specialists.
Dr. Saylor is a Diplomate with the American Board of Endodontics. He is a member of the American Association of Endodontists, the American Dental Association, the Pennsylvania Dental Association, the Academy of General Dentistry, American Society of Dental Anesthesia and the Centre Dental Society, where he has served as past president. He has received fellowship status with the International Congress of Oral Implantology.
Dr. Saylor is approved by the AGD PACE program and provides continuing education lectures to referring dentists and to other health care professionals in an effort to help them to better serve their patients. Some of his lectures to date include Success in Endodontics, Management of Traumatic Injuries, and Prescribing of Rx Antibiotics.
He is actively involved in Centre Volunteers in Medicine where he currently provides both endodontic and general dentistry services.
Dr. Saylor enjoys spending time with his wife and five children. He is an avid runner and cyclist and spends much of his off time exercising and training.
Mark D. Richey, D.M.D., MS
Dr. Richey is a graduate of The Pennsylvania State University where he earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Biology in 2000. He then attended the University Of Pennsylvania School Of Dental Medicine in Philadelphia, where he obtained his Doctorate of Dental Medicine degree in 2005. Following graduation, he completed one year of postgraduate training in general dentistry at Allegheny General Hospital in Pittsburgh, PA. Dr. Richey completed his postgraduate training in Endodontics at West Virginia University in Morgantown, WV where he also earned his Master of Science degree in 2008. Dr. Richey is a board eligible endodontist.
Dr. Richey joined Central Pennsylvania Endodontics in 2008 and is happy to be back in the area to raise his family.
Dr. Richey is an active member of the American Association of Endodontists, the American Dental Association, the Pennsylvania Dental Association, and the Centre Dental Society. He regularly attends the DuBois Study Club, Seattle Study Club, and other continuing education courses.
Dr. Richey married his wife, Melissa, in 2005. They have three beautiful girls: Abigail, Madelyn, and Lillian. In his leisure time, Dr. Richey enjoys spending as much time as possible with his children. He also enjoys outdoor activities, such as hiking, skiing, and biking.
Andrew H. Chang, D.M.D.
Dr. Andrew Chang is 2013 graduate of the Temple University Kornberg School of Dentistry where he obtained his specialty certificate in Endodontics. He also currently serves as a part time clinical faculty member at the University of Pittsburgh Endodontic department.
Prior to his specialty training, Dr. Chang received his Doctorate of Dental Medicine from Temple University in 2011. During that time, he spent time in the Dominican Republic as well as Haiti, treating communities with little to no access to dental care.
Dr. Chang earned his bachelors degree in 2006 from the Pennsylvania State University where he majored in Microbiology and minored in Biochemistry and Molecular biology. Dr. Chang is also a 2002 graduate of State College Area High School.
Dr. Chang is a board eligible endodontist and is currently a member of the American Association of Endodontists, the American Dental Association and the Pennsylvania Dental Association.
Dr. Chang was born and raised in State College and is honored to be back working in his home town. In his spare time, Dr. Chang loves traveling, good food and just being outdoors.
Laura R. Gecina, D.M.D.
Dr. Gecina attended The University of Pittsburgh where she earned her Bachelor of Science degree in 2010 with a major in Biology and a minor in Chemistry. She received her Doctorate of Dental Medicine degree from Temple University’s Kornberg School of Dentistry in 2014, where she graduated Summa Cum Laude. She was then accepted into the University of Pittsburgh to complete her postgraduate training, and received her specialty certificate in Endodontics in 2016. Dr. Gecina is a board eligible endodontist.
Dr. Gecina is an active member of the American Association of Endodontics, the Pennsylvania Dental Association and then American Dental Association.
Dr. Gecina grew up just outside of Pittsburgh, and is an avid Pittsburgh sports fan. She enjoys running, hiking, skiing, and especially enjoys playing softball.
